Records raise questions about Miller Creek afternoon Route 57 bus timing and public review

At Miller Creek Middle School, dismissal is at 2:56 p.m., while a later southbound Route 57 bus is scheduled around 3:19 p.m. An independent analysis of Marin Transit operational records suggests the existing earlier trip may deserve evaluation as a possible dismissal-time alternative.

Of 107 earlier-trip records reviewed, 104 recorded arrival by 3:05 p.m. The author estimated a 5.2-minute median hold to align that trip with dismissal. These calculations do not constitute a Marin Transit feasibility finding.

Correspondence also documents a March district statement offering to advocate for better timing, a July offer by the requester to work collaboratively after sharing the analysis, and an October district decision not to place the question on the school board agenda. The district explained that Marin Transit, not its trustees, controls route schedules.

The archive provides a chronology, analysis summary, source index and a review of statements about the service. It does not claim that unproduced written parent feedback proves that verbal feedback did not occur.
